Acum cativa ani citeam in ziare ca nu stiu ce meci din Premier League sau de box erau transmise la TV in regim pay-per-view. Bineinteles la ei acasa. Apoi la un interviu cu un britanic ce a condus unul dintre operatorii de telecomunicatii din Romania am palavragit cam o ora despre British Telecom, IPTV si video-on-demand. Astazi, la mai bine de trei ani de la cele doua situatii avem in Romania si IPTV si video-on-demand. Da, video la cerere. S-a lansat saptamana aceasta: www.mediadirect.ro.
Am gasit acolo doar filme dintre care multe cu mentiunea “In curand” dar compania spune ca oferta urmeaza sa se extinda in viitorul apropiat cu continut din mai multe categorii. Cel mai tare film din lista mi s-a parut Vagabondul Milionar (Slumdog Millionaire) care costa 1,49 euro. Cred ca o sa-l vad si eu, la cinema l-am scapat.
Pentru utilizarea serviciului ar fi nevoie de un calculator avand instalata o versiune actualizata de Adobe Flash si conectat la Internet prin intermediul unei conexiuni de minim 2Mbps. Plata se face prin card bancar, PayPal sau prin SMS.
Pe site scrie ca.. platforma MediaDirect de streaming video este conceputa sa asigure un standard impecabil de calitate al imaginii si sunetului transmise, accesibile acelor utilizatori care au deja un televizor HD sau sistem home cinema, sunt mari amatori de cinema, de muzica, de spectacole si isi permit o conexiune broadband la Internet si un calculator mai recent de 2 ani care sa garanteze posibilitatea vizualizarii streaming-ului video.. asa ca aviz amatorilor.
Presupun ca se vor gasi destui doritori, mai ales daca isi vor imbunatati colectia, vom vedea mai incolo daca le rezista platforma..

Multam pentru pont, o sa intru sa vad ce gasim acolo.
Pasul urmator e sa apara Video on Demand din partea operatorilor (vezi Romtelecom), apoi din partea posturilor TV. Aici cred ca mai avem de asteptat. Eu unul am renuntat la DC-uri si download, poate si din lipsa timpului, nu mai apuc nici sa dau drumul la TV daramite sa ma uit cap-coada la un film.
Now, ideea este sa ofere ceva nou si inaccesibil, gen meciuri, transmisii in direct, etc .. pentru ca eu unul ma indoiesc sincer: romanii sa plateasca pentru ceve ce pot obtine gratuit? Gen, filme?
Si ma includ in categoria asta, fara rusine.
